Visitor information

Is it free to submit my website?

Yes — completely. Submitting your site to the Vitrine gallery is free, with no fee now and none later. Open the form, enter your URL, choose a room, and it is hung.

What is Vitrine?

Vitrine is a free web gallery: a hand-curated directory of 797 websites across 22 rooms. A person hangs each site by hand, so you can walk the open web like a gallery instead of an algorithm.

How are sites organised?

By room. Every site is hung in one of 22 rooms — from software to travel — so related works sit together on the same wall and are easy to read.

How do I submit my site?

Go to the submit page, enter your site’s URL, choose the room that fits, and submit. If you leave the description blank we’ll fetch one for you. It takes under a minute.

Do you review submissions?

We do. New works are looked over by a person before they are hung, and we re-hang the rooms now and then to take down links that have gone dark.

About the gallery

Vitrine is a free web gallery — a hand-curated collection of the open web. We hang working websites across twenty-two rooms, choosing each one by hand rather than by algorithm.

There is nothing to install and nothing to pay. Step into a room, read the wall, and follow the works that fit. When you run a site of your own, you can submit it for hanging in under a minute — free, and free to stay.

It is search shown like an exhibition: instead of a blank box and a billion guesses, you get a small, legible wall that a person actually curates.
